Central Vineyard Groups

Community Groups

COMMUNITY GROUPS ARE WHERE THE LIFE OF CHURCH HAPPENS DURING THE WEEK.

Community groups do 5 things together:
1.  Worship through song or liturgy.
2.  Interact with Scripture through discussion, study, lectio divina, etc.
3.  Pray for each other.
4.  Engage suffering together through things like sharing a meal with folks at the Clintonville Resource Center.
5.  Form new groups Healthy things grow. As groups grow, it’s natural that new groups will emerge as new  leaders and hosts emerge.

*Our Community, Women’s and Youth Groups have regular rhythms of service and breaks; new people are encouraged to contact leaders before showing up to make sure they are meeting and where.

12 STEPS FOR CHRISTIANS STUDY GROUP

4th Monday of  the month, 7-8:30 p.m.

For anyone who wants to learn about 12 step spirituality in a scriptural context. “

Participants will learn about 12 Step framework for personal growth and recovery as a way of walking with the Lord.  The group is open to anyone who is curious about 12 Step spirituality as well as those who are already in membership in a 12 Step fellowship and wish to learn more from a specifically Christian point of view.  12 Step study is useful for anyone who has been negatively impacted by an addictive culture of fear, anger, repression, and denial. The shared text for the group is “The Twelve Steps for Christians”, by Friends in Recovery, RPI Publishing.

The first two meetings will involve getting acquainted and learning about the faith-based history of the 12 Steps.  This group is intended to supplement, not to replace 12 Step fellowships such as AA, Al-Anon, or OA.
