Everything we do at Central Vineyard is oriented to three primary ideas; community, prayer and engaging suffering. We're a diverse, welcoming and inclusive congregation focused on working out these three aspects of our mission in our individual lives, in the life of our church and in the neighborhoods we call home.
Our serice is 90 minutes long, from 10-11:30am. Coffee and tea are available starting at 9:40 and folks always linger long after the service is over.
There is no strict dress code at CV - some dress up, others come in shorts and flip flops. Wear what's comfortable!
We make space to pray for people during every service during worship, directly following the sermon. Our approachable and trained prayer teams wear lanyards and can be easily found around the periphery of the main space during this prayer time as well as before and after service.
More than just gathering on a Sunday, church is about sharing life together.
We're deeply committed to community at CV. Coming to a Sunday gathering is a great first step. We run a newcomers class once every three months or so, and we hold after church lunches in the building about once every quarter to provide another venue for folks to connect. We also regularly offer gatherings, events and classes that are open to anyone and everyone. You can see those here.
"Central Communities" are the way we share life together and explore our commitments around community, formation and mission. If you are ready to join a Central Community the next step for you is Community Basics. In this short course we will discuss a vision for a shared way of life and connect you with one of these groups.
Meet one of our team by the connect wall in back of the sanctuary! We're happy to answer any questions you may have, help you get plugged in and make sure you have all the information you need.
Yes, CV is part of the global movement of Vineyard churches, organized by country. CV operates under our national organization called Vineyard USA. Vineyard USA is made up of 500+ churches and is further organized into 9 regions across the country. CV is a part of the Great Lakes Region. All Vineyard churches in the U.S. contribute 3% of tithes and offerings to VUSA to support the national movement and partner together for church planting and global missions.
We are not a satellite of Vineyard Columbus. More than twenty years ago, Vineyard Columbus blessed and sent our founding pastors to plant Central Vineyard as an independent, neighborhood church in the Clintonville area.
We have been tremendously blessed by the leadership of Vineyard Columbus with their generosity in providing mentorship, ministry resources and support over the years and we remain relationally connected as we serve the city we all love.
Central Vineyard meets at 55 E. Blake Ave. in the Clintonville/Old North nieghborhood north of downtown Columbus. We currently have one service every Sunday at 10am and this service is available to stream on the link below.
Our services are casual. Come as you are! Our musical worship is is contemporary and heartfelt, creating space for worshipers to engage with God through singing, prayer, and openness to the Holy Spirit’s presence.
We think of worship as an intimate, Spirit-led, and participatory experience, that emphasizes both personal encounter with God and communal experience - an expression of love for God and a way to be formed by the Spirit, often flowing naturally into ministry and prayer.
CVKids is open to kids Pre-K to fifth grade. Check-in opens at 9:45am and kids will be released back to their parents for worship at the conclusion of the sermon.
Our nursery space in the basement is staffed and available for kids 0-3 during the duration of the service. Kids can be checked in for the service, and parents may also stay with kids in the nursery.
Our parking lot is reasonably spacious, but it might be full if you're a little late! Parking around the church on Blake Ave. and East Ave. is free and easy to come by.
Our main meeting space is ADA accessible via the South entrance facing the parking lot, where you can find an elevator to the main floor.
